On May 7, the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards was held at the COEX Hall in Seoul, with the greatest entertainers of the Korean industry under one roof.

On this day, singer BIBI also attended the event, but in her capacity as a new actress, representing her movie Hopeless. She was nominated for the Best New Actress (Film) award and ended up taking the trophy home!

When her name was announced, BIBI was thoroughly taken aback and once she got on the stage, she explained that she came unprepared because she never expected to win. The singer-actress, visibly flabbergasted, still tried to conjure up an acceptance speech. BIBI started by thanking the movie’s director and also thanked CEO Han Jae Deok, who “discovered” her, and then blanked out for a few seconds before cutely stuttering out a shoutout to all the staff members of Hopeless.

The camera then panned to Song Joong Ki, BIBI’s Hopeless co-star, who could hardly contain his chuckles.

She proceeded to thank more executives, her parents, and the Baeksang Arts Awards and then took a few good moments to hesitantly thank the entire humanity for creating the art forms of drama and movies.

Though BIBI burst into tears at the end of her speech, her co-star Song Joong Ki was seen thoroughly enjoying her unprepared predicament up on the stage, clapping and chuckling at her unexpected dedication to the entirety of mankind.

Netizens were amused at Song’s reaction, saying that he looked like a real brother who was simultaneously proud of his sister’s achievement and enjoying her mildly embarrassing moment on camera.
