A new girl group has joined the K-Pop scene—and their debut appears to have left quite an impact on netizens.
On July 5, KISS OF LIFE debuted with the song “Shhh.” Signed under S2 EntertainmentKISS OF LIFE is made up of four members: Julie, Natty, Belleand Haneul.
Before their debut, the rookie girl group gave audiences a glimpse of what KISS OF LIFE is all about with solo performances by each member on their YouTube channel. Starting with Natty, a new solo music video was released per day from June 19 to 22. All four of these solo songs are part of their first mini album, KISS OF LIFE.
In addition, KISS OF LIFE released the song “Bye My Neverland” as a pre-debut release on June 28.
Many were impressed when the music video for “Shhh” was released. The story was a continuation of the music video for “Bye My Neverland,” which ended with a tragic moment. Like the pre-release music video, the “Shhh” video was like a mini-film, showing the girls’ friendship and dreams of becoming singers. Although the song is three minutes, the music video was nearly six minutes because, in the second half of the video, the girls performed the choreography while the credits rolled.
This is not commonly seen in K-Pop videos, so netizens appreciated the new concept. The music video, in general, received a lot of praise for its storyline and impressive production quality.
Netizens found KISS OF LIFE’s concept refreshing and appealing—they had a sexy and hip concept that was done in a classy way, and many said the girl group didn’t seem like rookies at all. From the song to the choreography, K-Pop fans were impressed by their debut track.
