Latto’s Racist Tweets Toward Asians Resurface Following News Of Her Feature On BTS Jungkook’s “Seven”

Additionally, Latto’s last album was titled 777and “7” is very important to BTS and ARMYs. Jungkook’s song is even titled “Seven.” So, it feels meant to be.

Latto has also been active on social media since the announcement. She shared an Instagram Story update of herself using BTS’s “Epilogue: Young Forever” as music. On Twitter, she gave a shoutout to ARMYs.

Yet, her past problematic social media activity has resurfaced as well.

Latto made racist tweets against Asians in 2015 and 2016 when she was 16 and 17 years old, respectively. This included language imitations and offensive and racist stereotypes about cooking dogs and cats. She also used “Ling Ling” derogatorily (this term is often used toward Asian women like “Ching Chong” is used generally toward Asians) at least twice.

Netizens have noticed that Latto has started deleting these racist tweets. Although, some have continued to find more problematic tweets.

ARMYs are disappointed that Jungkook’s solo debut will include a feature with Latto now knowing her past tweets were racist against Asians. Some even hope her feature gets pulled.

Jungkook’s “Seven” releases on July 14 at 1 PM (KST).
