Connor Murphy, the man behind the YouTube account of the same name, is currently in hot waters for an act of violence.
The content creator is known for his bodybuilding and street interview videos. He is currently based in Pattaya, Thailand, where he was arrested on May 1 after he physically assaulted his girlfriend inside their home.
The 20-year old girl, Kanittha, was awoken by the sound of breaking glass which she soon realized was caused by the YouTuber. She found Murphy bleeding and shouting incoherently in anger. He attacked her with a golf club soon afterwards, and she quickly fled the scene with her little sister in tow.
They escaped through an open window and sought help from a maid they knew. The latter reported the case to the Huay Yai Police Station who rushed to the scene with rescuers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation. Murphy refused to surrender to the police until his neighbors and sister persuaded him to come out from the bathroom an hour later.
One of Murphy’s friends came to his defense, saying the incident was staged for a video on his YouTube channel. The police refuted this claim by pointing to a neighbor’s CCTV footage which showed Murphy acting incoherently right before attacking his Thai girlfriend. Pattaya Mail reported that he went “berserk” and caused “extensive property damage.”
The YouTuber is currently making a recovery from the broken glass, after which the police will conduct further questioning.
Connor Murphy has 2.4 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel, 1.3 million on his “Unfiltered” channel, and almost 500 thousand followers on Instagram.
