So, it’s no surprise he is getting brand deals! Recently, luxury sports fashion French company Lacoste announced Ahn Hyo Seop as its new global ambassador.
Lacoste has begun sharing promotional images and videos of Ahn Hyo Seop, who modeled in a red outfit.
One video has garnered more attention than others. On TikTok, Lacoste shared a clip of Ahn Hyo Seop flexing his English with a tricky tongue twister challenge.

The video went viral with over 1M views at the time of writing. Those who were used to Ahn Hyo Seop only speaking Korean in K-Dramas were in awe of his English, although he is Canadian.
Yet, even more netizens were doing a double-take due to his appearance. Many felt there was something different about him, and they wondered why.
Some questioned if it was just the makeup. A few were convinced it was due to his concealed aegyo sal (translated to “cute skin”).
Aegyo sal (sometimes referred to as “love bands” in English) are natural rolls under the eyelashes of your lower eyelids or “eye bags” that are not due to sickness or lack of sleep. You’ll notice that Ahn Hyo Seop usually has this feature in many photos and videos.
Aegyo sal is a naturally occurring or purposefully enhanced feature that adds to the eye’s charm without suggesting fatigue or health issues. In contrast, puffy eyes are often the result of fluid accumulation due to various factors, including lack of sleep, allergies, and ageing.

For some reason, Ahn Hyo Seop’s aegyo sal was missing in that Lacoste video. While aegyo sal is a common trait in Korea, it could be that Western stylists at the Lacoste shoot misinterpreted it as tired eyebags and concealed it.
