Samsung’s traffic accident detection sensor is said to be a composite sensor. Since it is a virtual sensor, it processes and combines data from the underlying physical sensors. One UI versions as old as One UI 5.1.1 have a hidden system app called “MoccaMobile” that contains code to start and stop the car crash sensor, but Samsung has yet to enable any UI related to the car crash detection feature. The feature can be activated for Galaxy S25 and even older models with One UI 7.
Car accident detection is a feature that we see in the iPhone 14 series and newer models on the Apple side, and in Pixel devices on the Android side, and interestingly, it is not available on other Android phones.
