From Vodafone Turkey According to the announcement made today, new customers ADSL ve VDSL Internet service will not be provided. From April 1, 2025 From now on, new internet applications will only be accepted in regions where fiber infrastructure is available.

Vodafone explained the reason for this decision: “Customer complaints arising from the existing copper infrastructure served through wholesale rental” he says. It is stated that customers are not satisfied with the service and experience constant interruptions. It is stated that it is difficult to provide service at standards that will make customers happy in the ADSL and VDSL internet service offered through rental.

In order to provide better service, Vodafone will sell new subscriptions only to addresses with fiber infrastructure as of April 1, 2025. Service will continue to be provided to existing ADSL and VDSL customers.

He made a detailed explanation about the problems of copper infrastructure. Vodafone Türkiye CEO Engin Aksoysaid:

“As of April 1, we are stopping the sale of DSL, in other words copper infrastructure-based internet service, on home internet. From now on, we will only provide fiber internet service to our new customers. The first reason for this is customer complaints arising from the copper infrastructure that does not belong to us. The customer is not satisfied with this product; because there are constant interruptions in the infrastructure. With the copper infrastructure we rent in regions where fiber is not available, we have difficulty in providing service at the standards that we want and that will make our customers happy. One of the reasons for this negative experience is the failure rate. The failure rate experienced by our customers in copper infrastructure is twice as high as in fiber. Approximately 5% of our customers create a fault report every month. In addition, consumers may suffer due to lack of ports at points where fiber service is not available. There are also problems in terms of inventory. While there appears to be a port in the system, we experience losses in port allocation when we go to the field. Fiber infrastructure is faster and the cancellation rate of customers we serve with this infrastructure is lower. Therefore, we will not recruit new customers in places where there is no fiber infrastructure, only copper infrastructure. We made this decision to provide better service to our home internet customers. For us, the happiness and well-being of our customers is our priority. We prefer not to sell our customers a product that they will be unhappy with. We do not want to sell old and bad experience technologies such as copper infrastructure. “We hope that this decision will have an encouraging effect on the implementation of new generation technologies.”
