The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) took an important step towards ensuring data security in the Turkish Armed Forces. Between the Ministry of National Defense and the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) TSK Cloud Computing System Project A cooperation protocol was signed for its development. TSK Cloud Computing System will provide data security in the entire IT infrastructure of the TAF, especially the Steel Dome.

What is TSK Cloud Computing System?

With the TSK Cloud Information System Project, TSK data will be stored in a private cloud network developed locally and nationally. Servers, storage systems and network infrastructure in the system will be provided by domestic companies. In the project HAVELSAN, ASELSAN, Türk Telekom, MilSOFT and DT Cloud companies will take part. Data will be stored securely in the cloud internet environment and transferred quickly. Uninterrupted and secure data flow will be enabled. Domestic defense industry systems will be integrated into the Turkish Armed Forces Cloud Computing System.

SSB President Haluk Görgün described the TSK Cloud Computing System Project as “A holistic cloud system that has never existed before in any public institution” he defined it as. Underlining that the technologies developed in the defense industry have been put into use in civilian life over time, Görgün stated that the companies that will take part in the project will gain important skills and have the chance to create economic opportunities in the civilian field.

Stating that information production has increased recently and the storage of this information has brought the development of cloud-based structures to the agenda, Görgün said, “With the project, we will reach a flexible structure and solve and deliver an accessible private cloud infrastructure system locally and nationally. This is so that we can create competitive solutions in the world in this field.” “The project will be an opportunity. The project includes servers, storage systems and network infrastructures.” he said

SSB President Haluk Görgün continued his speech with the following statements:

“With this project, a holistic cloud system that has never existed before in any public institution will be implemented. We are aware of the difficulties of this. The technologies and experiences developed in the defense industry are also applied to civilian areas over time. The very important talent to be gained here will offer our companies economic opportunities in other areas as well.
