BYD, which has the second largest market share in China’s battery industry after CATL, is preparing to introduce the world’s fastest charging battery. The battery to be used in construction machines will be introduced in Shanghai on November 26.

BYD’s new battery will of course appear with lithium iron phosphate cathode, as a derivative of the famous Blade Battery technology. For now, the data about the battery is just a photo taken during a presentation, but the values here are quite impressive, such as 1500V high voltage platform, 400A maximum current, capacity between 200 and 2500 kWh, 7000+ charging cycles and charging speed up to 600 kW.

Construction machines can operate in intense heat or cold weather conditions depending on the location of the country they are located in. Accordingly, the battery developed has the capacity to operate at temperatures of -35 and 65 degrees. The battery in question is also produced with cell-to-body technology. This means that it is designed as a direct part of the chassis, rather than integrated into it later, and increases the strength.

It should be noted that the new battery was developed in cooperation with FinDreams, BYD’s battery company, and XCMG, which produces equipment for construction machines. This state-run company is the largest in its field in China and ranks third in the world. The cooperation between the two companies started last year.
