The Top 10 K-Pop Girl Groups In Japan, As Voted By Netizens

Japan has had a wide K-Pop fan base for decades, and as love for K-Pop has grown worldwide, K-Pop artists’ overseas promotions have also increased.

Recently, Japanese netizens voted on the top K-Pop girl groups in the country, and over 1,000 votes narrowed the list down to ten groups.

Here are the top 10 girl groups in Japan!

10. NMIXX

JYP Entertainment‘s 4th-gen girl group, NMIXXreceived 15 votes, making them the 10th top girl group on the list.

9. aespa

Earlier this month, it was revealed that aespa would be holding two concerts at Japan’s famous Tokyo Dome later this year, making them the first 4th-gen group to accomplish the feat.

aespa received 18 votes, making them the 9th top girl group on the list.

8. NewJeans

NewJeans made a splash worldwide with their surprise debut last year, so it’s not surprising that they’re considered a top group in Japan.

With 29 votes, they’re 8th on the list.

7. ITZY

ITZY made their Japanese debut in 2021, and were named the top-selling rookie by Japan’s Oricon last year.

ITZY received 34 votes, earning them 7th place on the list.

6. Kep1er

Kep1er made their official Japanese debut in July 2022 and confirmed their first Japan arena tour earlier this year.

The 4th-gen group received 36 votes, making them 6th on the list.

5. WEIGHT

3rd-gen powerhouse MAMMOO made their Japanese debut in 2018 and released a Japanese language version of their Reality In Black album in 2020.

MAMAMOO earned 49 votes, earning themselves 5th place on the list.

4. IVE

4th-gen group IVE has also made an impression on Japanese fans and debuted in Japan with the Japanese language version of their single “ELEVEN” in October 2022.

IVE received 54 votes, earning themselves the 4th spot on the list.

3. SSERAFIM

Fellow 4th-gen group THE SSERAFIM made their Japanese debut earlier this year with a Japanese language version of their single, “FEARLESS.”

The group received an impressive 94 votes, earning themselves third place on the list.

2. BLACKPINK

3rd-gen global phenoms BLACKPINK debuted in Japan in 2017, releasing Japanese language versions of “BOOMBAYAH,” “Whistle,” “Playing With Fire,” “Stay,” and “As If It’s Your Last.”

BLACKPINK received an impressive 210 votes, earning second place on the list.

1. TWICE
