The new trailer of ‘A Minecraft Movie’ has been released
In today’s digital world, video games have become an indispensable part of popular culture rather than just a means of entertainment for gamers. The cinema industry has also realized this potential and has enabled many successful productions adapted from games to appear on the big screen in recent years. These films attract the attention of not only gamers but also a wide audience. The rich stories, dynamic characters and fascinating worlds of the games offer unique experiences to the audience on the cinema screen.
Minecraft, developed by Mojang Studios and released in 2011, is also keeping up with this trend and is preparing to hit the big screen in the spring of 2025.
The new trailer and official poster of A Minecraft Movie, which excites Minecraft fans, has been released. The film, starring Jason Momoa and Jack Black, is directed by Jared Hess, known for films such as Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre. The film also stars Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, Jennifer Coolidge and Kate McKinnon.
WHAT DOES THE MOVIE TELL?
In the movie where we share the adventure of four misfits, Garrett “Stickman” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks), who pass through a mysterious portal, there will be Piglins, zombies, pigs and dozens of faces you know from the world of Minecraft! The plot of the iconic play’s first big-screen adventure is as follows: Four misfits—Garrett “Stickman” Garrison (Momoa), Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers), and Dawn (Brooks)—find themselves struggling with mundane problems when suddenly pulled into the Overworld through a mysterious portal. They find it. They have arrived in a strange, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To return home, they must master this world (as well as protect it from bad things like Piglins and Zombies) and embark on a magical adventure with an unlikely expert builder, Steve (Black). Their adventure together will challenge all five of them to be brave and reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative… the skills they need to succeed in the real world.

The behind-the-scenes team of the film, which offers an interesting story combining the real world and the Minecraft universe, is full of successful names.
The film is produced by Roy Lee, Jon Berg, Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Jason Momoa, Jill Messick, Torfi Frans Olafsson and Vu Bui. It is executive produced by Todd Hallowell, Kayleen Walters, Brian Mendoza, Jonathan Spaihts, Pete Chiappetta, Andrew Lary and Anthony Tittanegro.
Director Jared Hess’ behind-the-scenes creative team includes BAFTA-nominated director of photography Enrique Chediak, Oscar-winning production designer Grant Major, editor James Thomas, Oscar-winning VFX supervisor Dan Lemmon and costume designer Amanda Neale. The casting choices for the film were made by Rachel Tenner. Music directors are Gabe Hilfer and Karyn Rachtman. The film’s music also belongs to Mark Mothersbaugh.
Distributed in our country by TME Films, “A Minecraft Movie” will be released on April 4, 2025.
