Her mom had some feedback about her solo debut. 😂
Former 2NE1‘s Sandara Park (also known as Dara) made her long-awaited Korean solo debut earlier this year, releasing her eponymous mini-album on July 12.
The upbeat song, playful concept, and colorful “FESTIVAL” music video perfectly match Sandara’s cheerful and infectious personality.
Kim Jaejoong, who met up with the fellow second-generation star to film for his talk show JaeFriends, was curious about how much Sandara spent on the impressive music video.
Kim Jaejoong, who recently launched his own company, estimated the cost of the “FESTIVAL” music video in his head and could tell it was a “massive project.”
Sandara confirmed it was an expensive undertaking and revealed that her mom scolded her for the cost of the production, using legendary trot singer Na Hoon A as a point of comparison and “ahjummas’ favorite idol,” Lim Young Woong.
Sandara’s mom humorously told her, “Lim Young Woong doesn’t even spend that much! Na Hoon A doesn’t spend that much!” while referencing Sandara’s lavish music video.
While her mom may have had strong feelings about the cost of the sets, Sandara was pleased with the outcome, praising the “gorgeous” set designs.
Jaejoong joked that Sandara needs more ads, and she revealed she only needs one more before they break even on her music video.
Sandara admitted she was “too naive” when planning the music video and joked that for her next album, the music video set will be “blank.”
During the JaeFriends episode, Sandara Park also discussed her beloved friendship with BIGBANG‘s leader, G-Dragon, and revealed how he helped her join 2NE1’s debut line-up.
