“The IT sector will determine Turkey’s future”

Informatics Industrialists Association (TÜBİSAD) announced the steps that need to be taken within the public, private sector and technology ecosystem in order to make Turkey’s technology ecosystem an effective power, at the meeting titled “The Future of the IT Sector and Ecosystem Economy” held at İş Towers on November 18.

At the meeting where TÜBİSAD Chairman of the Board of Directors Mehmet Ali Tombalak made the opening speech, PwC Turkey Digital Services Leader Cem Aracı “Growing with Investment in Our Country”, KPMG Innovation and Technology Consultancy Leader and company partner Gökhan Mataracı “Growing with Ecosystem in our Country”, Deloitte Engineering Artificial Intelligence and Data Its leader, Barış YeniDünya, presented their analysis titled “Growing with Technology in Our Country”.

“THE FUTURE OF THE SECTOR WILL BE THE FUTURE OF THE COUNTRY”

Mehmet Ali Tombalak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TÜBİSAD, stated the following in his speech: “Organizations and economies are ecosystems that interact with each other, maintain a balance and focus on sustainability, in the light of developing technologies and the scope they have reached. We are doing important work to raise awareness about this concept, the ecosystem economy, and shape our perspectives with this awareness. All the developments we have experienced as we come to the end of the first quarter of the 21st century show that the assurance of the future of countries can be achieved with the technology ecosystem they have and the share they get from global markets with the power of this ecosystem. Considering that our country is the safest, most scaled and most developed country in terms of competence in the region, we would like to put forward the steps that need to be taken to turn this into value. With the idea that the future of our industry will determine the future of our country, it is critical that we consider growth under three headings: Growing with Technology, Growing with Ecosystem and Growing with Investment.”

“IT IS OUR DUTY TO GROW THE ECOSYSTEM”

Emphasizing that everyone who produces technology, uses technology, serves the effective use of technology, and is a stakeholder of technology wherever they are, Mehmet Ali Tombalak said: “This can be achieved by productizing the sectoral solutions developed in-house by institutions and participating in the ecosystem economy; By moving the data centers of institutions to the ecosystem and transforming them into value centers; Gaining a share in global markets, starting from the fastest growing areas where data turns into economic value; the ability of our ecosystem companies to launch or transform into scale-up service companies in the world’s fastest-growing innovative service markets; Improving the incentive system and investment environment that will enable reverse company migration, focusing on transforming brain power into value rather than focusing on brain drain; Developing an investment environment that will pave the way for reverse company acquisitions in order to transform invested companies into companies that can invest over time, and encouraging the ecosystem with strategies to be determined specifically for this issue; “We can do this by implementing effective incentive methods that will enable our companies to merge, grow and scale, and pave the way for them to transform into regional and global brand companies.”
