The left-leaning The Guardian, which has 10.7 million followers on X, became the first major British media company to withdraw from the platform. Some critics say Musk’s hands-off approach to the platform has allowed fake news and hate speech to spread.

The Guardian included the following words in an editorial published on its website: “We feel that the benefits of being on thing.”
