Stratcom Summit 24 will be held in Istanbul with the theme “Artificial Intelligence in Communication: Trends, Pitfalls and Transformation”

According to the statement made by the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, the fourth International Strategic Communication Forum (Stratcom Summit 24) will be held in Istanbul on December 13-14 with the theme “Artificial Intelligence in Communication: Trends, Pitfalls and Transformation”.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan will also attend the forum, which will start with the opening speeches of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz and Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun.

The video message of United Nations Global Communications Director Melissa Fleming will be shared with the participants at the forum.

Also at the forum, Chief Advisor to the President for Foreign Policy and Security Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Azerbaijani Vice President Hikmet Hacıyev, Libyan Minister of State for Communications and Political Affairs Walid Ammar Ellafi, Lebanese Minister of Information Zaid Makary, Serbian Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristic, Pakistan Information and Publishing, National Minister of Heritage and Culture Attaullah Tarar, Palestinian Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Economy Dr. Abed-Alrazzaq Natsheh, Gabon Minister of Communications and Media Laurence Ndong, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, NATO Deputy Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Marie-Doha Besancenot, and Emma Turner, Head of Government Communication Services, Trade and Welfare Practices of the United Kingdom Prime Ministry. Ministers and heads of communication institutions of many countries will speak at the panels.

CHANGES EXPERIENCED WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE WILL BE DISCUSSED

Stratcom Summit 24, which is Turkey’s largest communication summit, will bring together the leading names of international communication and discuss the changes in the field of communication with artificial intelligence, and the opportunities and challenges offered by new technologies will be examined.

At Stratcom Summit 24, many current issues such as public communication, new communication strategies, journalism, digital media and diplomacy, combating disinformation and crisis management, digital ethics and cyber security will be discussed, focusing on the transformative effect of artificial intelligence in communication.

64 local and foreign experts from 30 countries’ leading public, private sector, civil society, media, academia and think tanks will attend the forum as speakers. The forum, consisting of 8 panels, 4 speeches and 6 one-on-one sessions, will host more than 3 thousand local and foreign guests.

The event is expected to be attended by communication experts from various sectors, from public institutions to private enterprises, from civil society to think tanks, as well as academics and university students.

On the first day of the program, “Artificial Intelligence in National Strategy: Digital Transformation and Strategic”, “Digital Transparency in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Providing Public Interest with Data Security”, “Artificial Intelligence in International Strategic Communication: Global Collaborations and Legal Regulations” and “Artificial Intelligence in the Fight against Disinformation” “: Strategic Tools for Public Institutions” panels will be held.

In addition, 3 separate one-on-one sessions will be held on the same day. Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security, “Turkey’s National Security Perspective in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, Vice President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hacıyev, “Artificial Intelligence and Strategic Progress: A Vision for the Future of Azerbaijan”, Palestinian Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Economy Dr. Abed-Alrazzaq Natsheh will also give a speech titled “Shaping Digital Transformation: Palestine’s Telecommunications Vision”.

On the second day, “Artificial Intelligence Supported Crisis Communication: Strategies for Public Safety”, “Artificial Intelligence Supported Cyber ​​Security in Communication: Ensuring Security”, “The Effect of Artificial Intelligence on Journalism: Maintaining Impartiality and Accuracy in the Face of Deepfake Threat” and “Artificial Intelligence and Communication Ethics” Experts will present their evaluations under the headings “: Managing Transparency and Accountability”.

“Deterrence and Defense Against Threats in the Information Age: An Interview with NATO”, “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Transforming Neurotechnology”, “New Horizons in Art Technology”, “Artificial Intelligence and Diplomacy: Turkey’s Technology-Focused Future Vision Strategy”, “Effectiveness of Public Communication Speech titled “Global Strategies for Peace”, “The Development of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Media”, “The Role of Digital Diplomacy in Peacebuilding” and one-on-one Some sessions will focus on how artificial intelligence shapes foreign policy and communication activities for states and international organizations.

In the event area, the stands of the Presidential Directorate of Communications, TRT, Anadolu Agency, Press Advertisement Agency, Presidency of Defense Industries, TOBB, ITU and Yıldız Technical University will meet with the participants. In addition, artificial intelligence experience areas specially designed for the event will be presented to the attention of the participants.

Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, whose evaluations were included in the statement, said, “When we decided to organize the Stratcom Summit in 2021, we aimed for our summit to be an international interaction environment and a global platform for everyone who works in the field of strategic communication and is interested in this field. During the time we left behind, Stratcom’s “We are very pleased that it has become a global brand and a leading interaction center today,” he said.

Stating that Stratcom is Turkey’s largest and most inclusive international communication summit with side events such as Hackathon, StratcomYouth, Disaster Communication and Stratcom Academy organized under this roof, Altun said that this year, ministers, communication professionals and experts in their fields from all over the world will meet. He stated that they were proud to bring academics together in Istanbul.

Altun emphasized that this year’s theme of the forum focuses on one of the most striking developments of the age and said:
