Who wore it best? It’s impossible to say!
Girl’s Day and Red Velvet may have debuted in different generations, but members Joy and Hyeri are just a few years apart in age. So, it’s no surprise that their styles sometimes overlap. That said, even when Hyeri recently wore the same dress as Joy, they both rocked it in their own unique ways.
The dress in question is a black one-piece from the brand Self Portraitfeaturing a sweetheart neckline with white detailing, lacey cut-outs, and a short, flared hem. The dress costs $519 USD, but both stars made it look like a million dollars.
Joy first wore the dress on the red carpet at last year’s 2022 Dream Concert.
In her version of the outfit, Joy went for a sexy and luxurious look. She left her long legs bare, pairing the dress with expensive jewelry. The combined cost of her BVLGARI Fiorever necklace, earrings, and ring was almost $75,000 USD! Plus, even her Jimmy Choo heels were encrusted with jewels.
The Red Velvet star’s dazzling look became the subject of numerous online news reports in South Korea, and the photos she shared of her look on Instagram racked up millions of likes.
Most recently, Hyeri donned the same dress at a press conference for her new show HyeMiLeeYeChaePa on March 9.
While the dress is the same, Hyeri’s look has more of a sweet feel. Her see-through black stockings gave her a timeless look, and her subdued black suede shoes contrasted Joy’s with just one band of glittering crystals. For jewelry, Hyeri kept things simple with small stud earrings and a thin bracelet, and one of the highlights of the look is definitely her playful haircut with choppy bangs and layered waves.
Just one week after its premiere, HyeMiLeeYeChaePa (also known as HMLYCP) is already attracting attention worldwide. The interior decorating-themed variety show sees THE SSERAFIM’s Chaewon, (G)-IDLE’s Miyeon, Choi Yena, YGX’s Leejungand TV personality Patricia join Hyeri in a mountain village house in need of sprucing up.
Both stars looked so gorgeous in the dress, it’s impossible to say who wore it best!
