Problems to be solved with STALKER 2 patch
The update will focus on fixing critical crashes related to memory allocation errors. Issues encountered while progressing through the main quest will be fixed for many issues, including cutscenes and graphics issues, as well as quirks in the user interface. The problems that the developer stated will be fixed with the patch coming next week are as follows:
- Crash fixes: Issues causing the game to quit unexpectedly and memory allocation errors, especially in cutscenes related to rendering, missions
- Main quest progression fixes: Several bugs hindering main quest progression, NPCs getting stuck in objects, incorrect quest markers, issues with quest cutscenes. Overhaul of main quests to ensure smooth transitions
- Gameplay and balance adjustments: Adjusted the price of weapons with upgrades attached compared to their value without their attachments. NPC behavior
- Cutscenes and visual fixes: Fixed bugs in facial animations and NPCs. Visual effects quality and stability improvements
- Softlock fixes: The issue where the swap screen does not close after placing the ammunition in the wrong slot while playing from the controller.
- User interface improvements: Quest notifications are now shown correctly during dialogues
- Fixed texts and missing interaction prompts
GSC Game World said that the issues surrounding the A-Life simulation system will be resolved in a later update. The studio will publish a road map in December for those wondering about new content coming in 2025.
