Nvidia unveils personal AI supercomputer ‘Project Digits’

Nvidia, the world leader in graphics processing units (GPUs) and artificial intelligence technologies, made a promotion that met expectations at CES 2025. The company appeared before consumers with an innovation that will shake the world of artificial intelligence. Nvidia unveils personal AI supercomputer ‘Project Digits’ at CES 2025. This compact device features Nvidia’s powerful Grace Blackwell hardware platform.

This personal AI supercomputer is powered by the Grace Blackwell Superchip, Nvidia’s most advanced hardware platform. Grace Blackwell Superchip combines Blackwell, Nvidia’s most powerful GPU, and the 20-core Grace CPU. Additionally, the device has 128 GB combined memory and 4 TB NVMe storage capacity.

WE CAN BUILD THE FUTURE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE TOGETHER”

In his CES 2025 speech, company CEO Jensen Huang explained the purpose of Project Digits with the words: “Digits will be an artificial intelligence supercomputer on everyone’s desk. This platform aims to provide developers with the tools necessary to build the artificial intelligence of the future at an affordable cost.”

Huang emphasized that this device offers a great opportunity for developers, students and researchers, and said, “Digits is designed to empower millions of developers. We can build the future of artificial intelligence together.”

IT CAN RUN MODELS WITH UP TO 200 BILLION PARAMETERS

Designed specifically for AI researchers, data scientists, and students, Project Digits features Nvidia’s new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip. This chip delivers up to one petaflop per second of computational performance for prototyping, fine-tuning and running AI models. Nvidia claims that a single Project Digits unit can run models with up to 200 billion parameters.

GB10 combines Nvidia Blackwell GPU and 20-core Nvidia Grace CPU. Inside Project Digits, the chips are linked by 128GB of memory and up to 4TB of flash storage. Nvidia states that two Project Digits machines run together can run models with up to 405 billion parameters. Project Digits can offer a standalone experience or be connected to a Windows or Mac PC.

PRICE IS 3 THOUSAND DOLLARS

However, this device is not cheap. Nvidia said Project Digits machines will be available from “top partners” in May, starting at $3,000. Therefore, not everyone will be able to have their own Project Digits unit. Huang believes there is a market for this device and said, “With Project Digits, the Grace Blackwell Superchip will reach millions of developers. An AI supercomputer on the desk of every data scientist, AI researcher, and student will enable them to shape and engage in the AI era.”

RTX BLACKWELL GPU FAMILY HAS ALSO BEEN DISPLAYED

Nvidia introduced its new RTX Blackwell family GPUs at its keynote at CES 2025. RTX 5090, which is at the center of the series, stands out with its 92 billion transistors, 4,000 AT TOPS, 380 ray tracing TFLOPS and 1.8 TB/s bandwidth. Nvidia claims that the new premium GPU can offer twice the performance than the RTX 4090.

RTX 5090 will be released with a price tag of $ 2,000. Other models, RTX 8050, 5070 Ti and 5070, will be $ 999, 749 and 549 respectively. Laptops using the 5070 model will cost much less than the standalone 5090.

Nvidia states that the 50 series “breaks new ground in areas such as AI-powered rendering, neural shaders, digital human technologies, geometric and lighting.”

TECHNOLOGY PARTNERSHIP WITH THE AUTOMOTIVE GIANT

In addition to all this, Nvidia announced that it will partner with the Japanese automobile giant Toyota in its presentation at CES 2025.

Nvidia and Toyota decided to collaborate to implement autonomous driving capabilities for new generation vehicles. In this new era, Nvidia’s Drive AGX Orin supercomputer and DriveOS operating system will be used to support Toyota’s future autonomous driving technologies. Nvidia has previously worked with Toyota on two different cloud-based computer systems, but this time the company is taking a big step by focusing on the automotive industry.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced this partnership in his presentation at the CES 2025 event. Huang stated that autonomous driving technology has a trillion-dollar market potential in the coming years. This collaboration is seen as part of Nvidia’s growth strategies in the automotive sector and strengthens the company’s claims in this field.

Toyota, on the other hand, aims to make significant progress in the areas of safety, comfort and efficiency by developing vehicles with autonomous driving capabilities. These projects, supported by Nvidia’s advanced artificial intelligence and computing solutions, will be an important turning point in the automotive industry.
