Achieving to become the best-selling car in Europe in 2023 Tesla Model Yin its current form, has been on the roads since 2020 and is now ready for renewal. The company is expected to introduce the new Model Y soon. Before that, camouflaged images of a Tesla Model Y prototype being tested in Europe emerged.

In the clearest photos ever captured of the new Tesla Model Y, we see that the updated front and rear are completely hidden. Despite this, the split headlight design at the front, which has never been found on any Tesla before, stands out. At the rear, the most striking change will be the stop group extending from end to end. In addition, we see that the rear camera has been moved a little higher in line with the new design language.

Although it is not obvious from the intense camouflage on the prototype, the front bumper will be updated and made more aerodynamic, just like the Model 3. This change reduced the air friction coefficient of Model 3 from 0.23 to 0.219. Thus, the company will not only increase the efficiency of Model Y but also reduce the wind noise reflected in the cabin during the journey.

Updates to the aerodynamic and electronic systems of the facelifted Model 3 caused its range to increase by 8 percent. A similar change is expected to occur in Model Y. This value can exceed 560 kilometers in the car, which currently offers a range of 533 km in the long range version.

Changes will also be made to the interior of Tesla Model Y. New steering wheel, increased material quality, ambient lighting, 8-inch rear screen, front seat cooling and redesigned center console are the changes expected to be made in the interior. One of the most discussed changes in the Model 3 was the move of the signal controls from a lever to the steering wheel. Tesla may take a step back on this issue with the facelifted Model Y.

Last month, Model Y production started in small quantities in China. Mass production is planned to start this month. For the Turkish market, production in Berlin, not Shanghai, is important. Cars originating from China are subject to additional customs duty. There is no clear date yet for production in Europe.
