Social media giant Meta has offered to pay up to $5,000 to popular creators in the US who join Facebook and Instagram.
According to the BBC, in the statement made by Meta, it was stated that those who join the platform from ‘third-party social applications’ will be able to receive cash based on ‘evaluation of social presence’.
This step from Meta coincided with the uncertain future of the China-based social media platform TikTok in the USA after Donald Trump became the US President.
TikTok has 170 million users in the United States. A significant portion of these users make their living through the social media platform.
Therefore, Meta’s offer appears to be an attempt to offer users an alternative plan in case TikTok is banned in the United States.
In the statement made by Meta, it was noted that those accepted to the program, called the ‘groundbreaking bonus program’, will be paid the offered fee for the first 90 days in the application, as long as they share regularly.
In this context, users must post at least 20 Reels on Facebook and 10 Reels on Instagram in every 30-day period.
