Netflix Türkiye team organized an event in Istanbul for the preview of the Senna series. Names representing our country in motor sports attended the preview event. Successful to participate in Formula 2 Cem BölükbaşıTurkey’s youngest female rally champion Burcu Burut ErenkulCompeting in GT World Challenge, NLS and DTM series Ayhancan Güvenrally driver who achieved third place in the World Junior Championship (WRC3) Ali Turkkan and motorcycle stunt champion Birkan Polat took part in the event.
Senna The series consists of 6 episodes. In the first episode, we watch Senna’s start in karting and how he leaves Brazil and comes to England to participate in Formula Ford races and win his first championship. In the following episodes, his Formula adventure and the tragic accident at the San Marino Grand Prix are conveyed to the audience.
Prepared by the Brazilian production company Gullane, the series was brought to life with the support of Senna’s family and in cooperation with Senna Brands, which aims to pass on his legacy to new generations. While Gabriel Leone stars in the series, it is directed by Amorim and Julia Rezende.
With the invitation of Netflix Turkey, we had the opportunity to attend the preview of the series. I think the documentary aspect of the series will be dominant and it will be like one of the dozens of documentaries prepared about Senna, but the Senna series surprised me. It focuses not only on Senna’s turning points on the track, but also tells the story of his rise and fall in his life. In this respect, even people who have not watched Senna live and are not interested in F1 can connect with Senna. It manages to make the audience curious by focusing on fiction and drama. Even if we know Senna’s story, “What will happen next?” It makes us watch with curiosity. It keeps this feeling alive in the racing scenes and does not bore the audience. Cinema quality visuals are presented in the races. We see that the experience Netflix gained from F1: Drive to Survive is reflected positively in this series.
Netflix has managed to make a series worthy of Senna, one of the most iconic names in sports history. Although I think the series is one of the most impressive productions about F1, I think even people who are not interested in F1 will enjoy watching it.
Senna series in 6 episodes on Friday, November 29 It will be broadcast on the Netflix platform.
