iOS 19 development was disrupted!
As every year, Apple introduced its new software at WWDC, and released iOS 18, one of the most anticipated updates, in September. However, many new features introduced at this year’s event were not available immediately. In particular, Apple Intelligence features were introduced quite late, although they were limited to a small number of iPhone models. The last update, iOS 18.4, is expected to be released in April, which is something that has rarely happened in Apple’s history. This gradual rollout will also affect the upcoming iOS 19 update.
Normally, with the release of iOS 18, engineers were supposed to start working on the next major iOS release, but they are still working on iOS 18 projects. Worse, according to Gurman, iOS 19 features will be distributed gradually in the same way.
iOS 18.2 is the last update of 2024
Apple on Wednesday released iOS 18.2, which brings several new Apple Intelligence features that it has been advertising since September when the iPhone 16 series launched. iOS 18.2 is the last iOS update of 2024, while iOS 18.3 and iOS 18.4 will bring screen awareness to Siri, deeper controls in apps, and a few other improvements.
