For those who missed it Battlemage, Arc, the first generation dedicated graphics card series launched by Intel in 2022 Sequel to Alchemist in nature. While Alchemist’s most powerful model, Arc A770, offers similar performance to Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3060 model, we have seen that the only Battlemage graphics card currently on the market, Arc B580, competes with the RTX 4060 Ti model. But Intel’s plans may be bigger than that.
According to Quantum Bits, Intel is addressing the growing demand in the AI (artificial intelligence) market. 24 GB VRAM capacity is preparing a model. While this model is expected to use the same hardware as the Arc B580, we may see different features such as increased capacity per memory module or dual modules on both sides. Also new GPU compared to gaming and consumer market productivity apps will target. The memory increase in question confirms that it will be aimed at AI inferences such as large language models (LLMs) and generative AI.
Previously, Intel has not released any Arc PRO models. While the highest model in the series was the Arc PRO A60, a model called “Data Center GPU Flex 170” designed for data centers was introduced. Currently, there is no information on the exact release date or full specifications for the Battlemage Pro models. However, let us note that the year 2025 is indicated for this.
