Huawei introduced the new head-up display system with new AR

Chinese technology giant Huawei introduced the new Augmented Reality (AR)-supported Head-up Display (Xhud-Ar) technology. The new system, which can effectively identify and mark the environmental vehicles and pedestrians, can filter the deviation of AR symbols by 95 %.

Huawei introduced Head-up Display technology with augmented reality supported for the first time in 2021 in Munich, Germany. At that time, the technology of the 70 -inch virtual display created a virtual screen, which seemed to be 7.5 meters ahead of the driver. This allowed the driver to see the information in harmony with the real world as if he were on the road.

In the four -year period, the technology giant developed this system. The biggest development in the XHUD-AR system was made in real-time rendering, target tracking and vibration prevention algorithms. It is also stated that the system offers a better user experience by combining virtual and real areas. Thus, the augmented reality -supported navigation signs always show the target aspect in the physical world correctly.

The new system can also filter more than 95 %of signs of bumps. Thanks to the orbit estimate algorithm used, AR symbols set positions instantly and the image remains smooth, stable. Other innovations offered by Xhud-Ar include compliance with night vision scenarios, vehicle warnings at blind spots, pedestrian marking, obstacle crossing, strip mergers, deceleration and braking warnings.

Currently, Huawei supplies the augmented reality-supported head-up display system to many automobile manufacturers such as SAIC, BAIC, SERES, Changan, Chery, BYD and Jac. The adoption of the new Xhud-Ar technology will increase the comfort and security of these vehicles further. It will also help Huawei reinforce the leading position in the overhead screen market.
