Minister Uraloğlu reminded that e-Government Gateway, which is one of the important tools of Turkey’s digitalization and the public’s transition to a digital structure, was established by Türksat AŞ under the responsibility of the Ministry. Pointing out that the e-Government Gateway, which was opened by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on December 18, 2008, is celebrating its 16th anniversary, Uraloğlu underlined that the service concept in the bureaucracy has been accelerated since the day it was put into service and bureaucracy has become a thing of the past.

Minister Uraloğlu pointed out that citizens can now do their business with the state without waiting in long queues and said, “The e-Government Gateway, beyond being a service, has initiated the establishment of a participatory, sharing and interactive citizen-state relationship. It increases the quality of services offered to citizens by the state and makes it possible to deliver public services to individuals more quickly and easily. In fact, e-Government has strengthened the understanding of more efficient service and democratic governance. “On the one hand, it increased the quality of life of our citizens, and on the other hand, it contributed to reaching disadvantaged segments of society and moving social development to advanced levels,” he said.

Pointing out that participation in the e-Government Gateway is increasing rapidly every year, Uraloğlu emphasized that innovations in information and communication technologies are effective in all areas of economic and social life. Reminding that the number of entries into service was 3.1 billion in 2021, Uraloğlu explained that it reached 4 billion in the 11 months of 2024.

Uraloğlu stated that with the e-Government Gateway, citizens can now do their business with the state via their computers or phones, and said, “Our people have now eliminated the need to go door to door to public institutions and collect documents. Our citizens can now do almost all their work through the e-Government Gateway without collecting any documents.” “Our students and their relatives who will enroll in a university in a different city than the one they live in are saved from the hassle of traveling and accommodation,” he said.

Minister Uraloğlu underlined that, according to the results of the “e-Government Gateway Satisfaction Survey” conducted regularly, 95 percent of the citizens use “türkiye.gov.tr” with satisfaction and appreciation, and said, “According to the European Commission’s e-Government Benchmarking Report, our country Our country is even included in the ‘Countries with Very High e-Government Development Index’ category in 2024, with a score above the European Union average in e-Government applications. “It became the country that made the most progress, rising 21 places,” he said.

MOST USED SERVICE, SSI REGISTRATION AND SERVICE REPORT

Uraloğlu stated that nearly 4 billion services were received on the e-Government Gateway within 11 months this year, and that the most used service in this context was “SGK Registration and Service List/Workplace Title List” with a rate of 23.64 percent. Stating that the “Vehicle Plate Penalty Inquiry” service ranked second with 10.02 percent, Uraloğlu said, “This year, especially the ‘Social Security Institution When Can I Retire Under Normal Conditions’ service was among the most used services. Our citizens have received 9.43 percent of the service they received from the e-Government Gateway, that is, nearly 400 million, ‘When Can I Retire?’ used the service. “While the “Working Life” service ranked fourth with 9.37 percent, the Tax Debt Inquiry and Payment service ranked fifth with 9.15 percent,” he said.

Minister Uraloğlu underlined that the e-Government Gateway has become one of the world’s largest digital government services with nearly 66 million 700 thousand users and said, “This system, which has become one of Turkey’s biggest brands and whose infrastructure was established by Türksat, is now the envy of the world.” It gained a structure. In this context, just as we established the e-government infrastructure of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, we aim to establish the digital state infrastructure of friendly and brotherly countries through Türksat.
