A new one was added to the changes Disney made in Turkey this week. Disney Plus sent an informational letter to its subscribers. From January 15, 2025 from Dolby Atmos announced that its support would be discontinued.
Disney’s statement on the subject was as follows:
“We hope you enjoy Disney+. Starting January 15, 2025, we will begin discontinuing Dolby Atmos support on our service.

We know that such changes can sometimes be unexpected. If you would like to cancel your membership and receive a prorated refund, please contact us via the Help Center.”
Disney did not imply this in its statement, but it may be possible that Dolby Atmos will return with a premium package in the future. Disney, which will make the package with ads available in Turkey in February, may make Dolby Atmos support one of the privileges of the ad-free Premium package. Because we have previously seen that platforms such as HBO Max and Prime Video took similar steps before the release of the ad package.
