For those who missed it, Qualcomm is currently producing Snapdragon processors. Trusts TSMC. However, the advanced 3nm process and the fact that TSMC is the only one in this field has increased the costs significantly. According to information from the Asian market Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2, It will be produced exclusively on TSMC’s 3nm ‘N3P’ process. Moreover, it is stated that the company will again turn to TSMC for the Snapdragon 8s Elite, which will be used in mid-upper segment phones. The biggest reason for this is the efficiency problems in Samsung’s 3nm GAA technology. Likewise, the Korean giant is said to have maintained an efficiency rate of 20% in the 3nm GAA process, and it usually needs to be increased to 60% or more in order to move into mass production.
Coming back to Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2, it is said to offer up to 20% multi-core performance increase with ARM’s Scalable Matrix Extension (SME) support.
