For this writer (and perhaps many readers as well), the “Game Caterers X STARSHIP Entertainment” episodes could be noted as the first time we got to see CRAVITY’s HyeongJun perform with a spotlight shining fully on him. Every time we watched the last episode, at various moments, our mouths are open ajar, heads bopping with excitement, and our fingers waving in the air, as we virtually hype HyeongJun up, hoping he somehow receives our vibrant energies through the screens even though it is a program that had already been filmed and aired.
The effect he had in that video made us thoroughly fascinated by his talent and charms. And having spent an ample amount of time exploring a variety of his performance videos, we could rightly claim that whenever you watch a HyeongJun performance, you just want to match his energy and vigorously cheer him on as he delivers an amazing and noteworthy stage.

1. ‘Adrenaline’
Perhaps one thing that makes HyeongJun stand out and something many viewers/fans would find very appealing is the unmistakable joy on his face whenever he performs. While watching many of his performances, there are always moments where he smiles, it’s often so quick but you always catch it. It’s a feel-good moment, as you realize, not only is he delivering incredibly clean and refined motions but he also feels very happy, relaxed, and comfortable on stage as well. Which in turn, makes you even happier and his performances, more enjoyable.
2. ‘Party Rock’
The topic is “Duality” and HyeongJun is at the front of the class, presenting a PowerPoint on how to truly embody the term on stage. Duality is another part of the many charms that HyeongJun presents on stage. While this term is quite normal for many idols, with HyeongJun there is something more striking and unique about his presence. Regardless of the concept, HyeongJun seems to be able to express himself in different ways that seize your attention. It could be the cute smile or wink, it could be the sassy smirk or the flick of his hair, subtle or bold, these unmissable moments add so much flair to his performances and makes them memorable.
3. ‘Break all the Rules’
Like he said he is not a wi-fi dancer and we totally agree! Fancams give you an opportunity to fully see how idols perform when they are not in the camera frame and with HyeongJun, on camera or not, front or back, he always tends to give his 110% regardless. This stage performance is simply incredible. His motions are sharp and smooth, while also being so powerful and raw. At some point, you feel the intensity he exudes, it is not overwhelming or intimidating, it’s the kind that makes you go “Oh! so, you’re this good huh?!” with respect and admiration.
4. ‘Flame’
While HyeongJun readily looks like a performer who shines brightly in the pop and Hip-Hop styles, he often times looks like he’d also be amazing in other styles too. Particularly in contemporary dance. The opening sequence of this performance feels like something you’d see at a theatrical performance. There is a sense of grace and beauty in his movements that piques your interest and even though, the choreography infuses more pop styles as the performance progresses, at various moments within the performance, he still shows off that charm with his motions that make you take notice of him and hope he explores the contemporary dance style more in the future.
5. ‘Cloud 9’
It’s an explosion of cuteness and a performance that will truly take you to cloud nine. HyeongJun’s facial expressions are always captivating and entertaining and as we mentioned before, while he always mixes them up, creating a sort of duality with them, on this stage, he chooses to show off his cute natural state, and we are left cooing and awwing at how adorable he looks. Adorable in expressions and not in movement because while his face might say I am cute, his motions say, I am a PERFORMER too as he delivers this choreography with panache and finesse.
