BIGHIT MUSIC announced in October that BTS’s Jin would be terminating the postponement of his mandatory military service in preparation for becoming the first member of the group to enlist.

The statement came shortly after the group concluded their legendary free concert in Busan, which served as a bid for the city to host the World Expo 2030.

BIGHIT MUSIC is proud to announce today that the members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service. After the phenomenal concert to support Busan’s bid for the ‘World Expo 2030,’ and as each individual embarks on solo endeavors, it’s the perfect time and the members of BTS are honored to serve.

On December 13 (KST), Jin arrived at the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon County of Gyeonggi Province for his military entrance ceremony, officially becoming the first member to enlist.

Before his 18-month military service, BTS’s Jin prepared special content for ARMYs to enjoy while he’s gone, including monthly video messages.

In January, Jin left his first message for ARMYs in a pre-filmed video from his Running Man appearance.

In February, Jin greeted ARMYs for Valentine’s Day and prepared seven macaroons representing the members of BTS, which he decorated by writing “ARMY” on them in chocolate.

Now in March, Jin is back for another romantic holiday, White Day. BTS’s oldest member playfully teased ARMYs, asking if they’d been crying over him before stating he was joking.

The video was filmed in Jin’s hotel room in Argentina from when he flew to debut his solo song “The Astronaut” during Coldplay‘s concert.

For White Day, Jin prepared a lollipop for ARMYs and shared that he got his hair and makeup done to look his best for fans, even though it was his day off.

Jin acknowledged that by the time the video is out, his “The Astronaut” concert performance will have already been completed.

So Jin’s request for ARMYs upon seeing the video is to check out his performance again!

ARMYs are more than happy to fulfill the request and have already begun to stream Jin’s song and watch the live performance, leaving comments on the official YouTube video stating they were there because of Jin’s March message.
