ASELSAN-made wind turbines will be put into operation in 2025

Developed the critical components (generator, power converter, control system software and SCADA system) of Turkey’s first domestic wind turbine. ASELSANWithin the scope of the contract signed with Elektrik Üretim AŞ. It has a tower height of 100 meters and a rotor diameter of 136 meters. It will install and commission 2 wind turbines at the Alaçatı Wind Power Plant (RES) site. These wind turbines It is planned to be put into operation before the end of 2025.
ASELSAN’s Domestic Wind Turbines Have an Installed Power of 4.3 MW
ASELSAN’s new generation wind turbines will replace the 12 wind turbines with old technology currently used in Alaçatı Wind Power Plant. Each of these new wind turbines to be commissioned at Alaçatı Wind Power Plant It will have an installed capacity of 4.3 MW. One of the turbines will be 80 percent local and the other will be 65 percent local.
The 12 old wind turbines, which were to be decommissioned because there were difficulties in supplying spare parts and because they operated at low efficiency, had an installed power of 7.2 MW. Now this will be replaced with only 2 wind turbines.
These domestic wind turbines developed by ASELSAN will play an important role in reducing foreign dependency in the transition to renewable energy. ASELSAN Energy SystemsIn addition to wind turbines, it also develops inverters of different capacities for solar power plants and power electronic components that can be used in energy storage systems.
