ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol shared the activities carried out by ASELSAN in 2024 and the company’s achievements in his post on his social media account. Akyol said, “We made our mark in 2024 with our engineering power. We signed export contracts for 30 of our products for the first time. We exported to 7 new countries for the first time. We delivered 29 new products to our users for the first time. We nationalized 106 products together with our local companies. In deliveries and newly received orders, “We have reached the highest figures in our history both at home and abroad, and we have become one of the 10 fastest growing defense companies in the world among the companies on the Defense News Top 100 list,” he said.

Sharing ASELSAN’s 2024 Z report, Akyol gave the following information about the productions and deliveries:

“We introduced our Steel Dome layered air defense concept to our nation and continued production and development together with our stakeholders. We continued the deliveries of new batteries within the scope of mass production activities of HİSAR Air Defense Systems. We presented new batteries to our end users within the scope of mass production activities of KORKUT Close Air Defense Systems We increased the number of countries where the GÖKDENİZ Air Defense System is used and started working on the mass production activities of our GÜRZ Hybrid Close Air Defense System. We continued the installation of their systems. We equipped the TCG İSTANBUL and TCG DERYA ships delivered to our Navy, the TCG ORUÇREİS ship, which underwent half-life modernization, and the TCG AKHİSAR, which was on its first cruise, with electro-optical UAVs such as Akıncı, Aksungur, TB2 and Anka. We equipped it with our communication, electronic warfare, guided munitions and navigation systems. GÖKBEY Helicopters flying with ASELSAN’s avionics system were delivered to our Gendarmerie. We continued to add the modernized M60T Tanks and ACVs to our army inventory. Our TÜRKSAT 6A satellite started its mission with Ku-Band and X-Band LOCUS communication payloads developed by ASELSAN. Thus, we have become able to offer communication solutions to all platforms, from the depths of the sea to the depths of space. Istanbul Airport Metro Kağıthane-Gayrettepe stage, where our national signaling system, Cobalt Cıtyline, is used, has been put into use. We have started working to expand the National On-Board Signaling System Cobalt Onboard to 99 new train sets. We continued the installation of our border security solutions and expanded them to exceed 2000 kilometers. As part of our city security activities, we continued to deliver artificial intelligence-supported ODAKAN lapel cameras and security cameras to our security forces, increasing the number of domestic security cameras in our inventory to over 250 thousand. We continued the installation of our Public Secure Communication Systems, which provide uninterrupted communication in disasters and emergencies, in 81 provinces. Thus, we increased the number of digital radios in use to over 200 thousand.”

Sharing the products that will enter the inventory for the first time in 2024, Akyol said:

“We delivered our SIPER Long Range Air Defense System to our heroic army for the first time. We introduced the first Portable Early Warning Radar System ALP 300-G to our army’s inventory. MARLIN Armed Unmanned Marine Vehicle became the first SIDA to enter the inventory of our navy. ALBATROS-S Swarm IDA and ALBATROS Kamikaze İDA has entered the inventory of our Navy. Turkey’s game-changing over-the-horizon sonar DÜFAS is Blue. We brought it to Vatan. 6 different SONARs belonging to our FERSAH family, which we integrated into our TCG SAKARYA submarine, entered the inventory. We made the first deliveries of AREAS 2-N/NGE Naval Electronic Warfare Systems and offered our PUHU 3-LT Electronic Warfare Systems to our users. We made the first deliveries of our Warfare Pod ANTIDOT 3-U, which we integrated into TCG PİRİREİS. With the X38-S, we offered a communication system solution to a submarine for the first time and introduced the DRAGONEYE-2 Electro-Optical Sensor System to the inventory for the first time. We added our new generation long-range thermal camera, ODAKAN IP UMA8T5, to the inventory for the first time. Our TOLUN Guided Munition, which can shoot up to 8 targets at the same time, has entered the inventory of our heroic army. We delivered the National Monitor System, which will have an important place in Turkey’s communication security. We added the AcroSAT Ku120-M Ku Band Marine Satellite Communication Terminal and the AcroSAT Ku240-Center Satellite Communication Ground Terminal to the inventory. We introduced the new generation GEKO Vehicle Recognition System, which can perform high-accuracy recognition, for the first time. ASELSAN Mobile Digital X-ray Device ADR-M100 started to be used for the first time at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. Turkey’s first national SCADA system, GridMENTOR, was put into use in our oil pipelines. “MIRSAD AI has put our Ground Command and Control system into use in base areas for the first time.”

Sharing the important activities and technological developments carried out by ASELSAN in 2024, Akyol noted that they continued the firing of the SİPER Product-2 Air Defense System and successfully carried out the long-range firing of the HİSAR O Air Defense System. Akyol said, “We carried out the first firing of our HİSAR-D Air Defense System from TCG İSTANBUL. We showcased drone hunter systems such as KORKUT 150/25, BUCHALEMON, KANGAL FPV and SEDA 100-CUAV and ATOM 25 ammunition for the first time at SAHA Istanbul. KORKUT 100 We exhibited the wheeled vehicle version of our /35 Close Air Defense System in the international arena. We carried out successful launches of the anti-mortar countermeasure system KORKUT C-RAM. We demonstrated the effectiveness of our EJDERHA (HPEM) system against drone threats in field trials. Our KALKAN 400-G Air Defense Radar served for the first time in long-range fires with HİSAR-O. -We have completed the factory acceptance tests of the G Low Altitude Radar System and our MURAD 100-A Nose Radar. We completed the development activities of the ACAR 100-G Forest Surveillance Radar and STR 200-G Rocket/Missile Warning Radar and completed the first flight of the FULMAR 200-A SAR Pod with Bayraktar TB2 and the first image was obtained. We signed the GÖKTÜRK-3 SAR Satellite System Development Project, which provides satellite imaging capability for our country through active sensors. We have successfully completed the integration of T-Link Air Terminal and ground terminal into the systems. We have completed the integration of ARTCOM 9681 V/UHF Airborne Radio to TB2 and AKINCI UAVs. We have successfully completed the nationalization of NAVTEX receiver/transmitter systems used within the scope of Coastal Safety Navigation Systems. National Combat Aircraft KAAN, featuring ASELSAN’s avionics technologies, made its first flight. We integrated our ASELFLIR 500 camera and TOLUN guided ammunition into ANKA III and made successful shots. Bayraktar AKINCI TİHA successfully destroyed the target on the sea in its first firing test with ASELFLIR-500. For the first time in Turkey, TOLUN Ammunition hit its targets accurately with four simultaneous shots. TOLUN IIR with Infrared Seeker Head, the game-changing variant of TOLUN ammunition, was successfully launched from AKINCI TİHA. AKINCI TİHA hit the target accurately with our GÖZDE Guidance Kit. We delivered the GERGEDAN 4-U Electronic Warfare System, which was integrated onto the UAV for the first time. We have completed the integration of our ANTIDOT 2-U Electronic Warfare Pod to Bayraktar TB2. We successfully completed the diving tests of Turkey’s first Autonomous Underwater Vehicle DERİNGÖZ and signed its first contract. We have completed the development work of the Undersea Detection System aselBOUY with its successful launches. We introduced the autonomous ACV for the first time at TEKNOFEST Adana. We have completed the development of ASAF 155 MOFA Smart Multi-Purpose Artillery Ammunition Fuze. We have completed the development activities of the mobile seismic sensor aselZone SISMIK-T. We started to use our CANIS, LEOP and FELIS detectors, which we developed and started to produce within the scope of our chip design studies, as critical subcomponents in our seeker head and electro-optical systems. “Turkey’s first Quantum computer was developed within the scope of Quantum Technologies studies carried out at TOBB University,” he said.

Reminding that ASELSAN rose five places in the Defense News Top 100 list and ranked 42nd, Akyol said, “We have completed our structuring in 6 new countries within the scope of our international expansion strategy and vision of providing local support to users.” This year, we signed export contracts with 7 new countries, increasing the number of countries we export to 92. We signed export contracts for the first time for 30 of our products. For example, we signed export contracts with 14 countries for ASELFLIR-500, our best-performing camera in its field, which we started production this year. “We increased both our direct exports and our indirect exports through platform manufacturers by more than 50 percent,” he said.

Providing information about ASELSAN’s corporate development in 2024, Akyol said that according to the Borsa Istanbul market value ranking, they rose to the 6th place this year, compared to the 7th place last year. Stating that the Corporate Governance rating score reached the historical peak with 9.49, Akyol said, “We started new investments exceeding 400 million dollars to increase our R&D and mass production capacity. We ranked first in the number of R&D projects in the Turkey R&D 250 Research. New Entrepreneurship support Within the framework of our program, we included 8 external initiatives and 1 internal initiative. Applications for the Next Big Move to Turkey program, which we implemented for the return of our engineers abroad, increased 4 times compared to last year. Hacettepe University has also joined the universities where ASELSAN Academy collaborates. We have expanded our ‘A Talent’ candidate engineering program to include 3rd year university students. ASELSAN Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School has produced its first graduates in Water Management. We received a score at the ‘Leader’ level. According to the results of Capital Magazine’s 500 largest private companies survey, we became the leading company in the defense sector. We received the first prize in the TİM – İnovaLİG innovation resources category. “ASELSAN was selected as the ‘Most Attractive Employer’ in its field for the 10th time in the Universum research,” he said.
