Apple will pay  million in ‘Siri’ case

The preliminary agreement, which must be approved by Judge Jeffrey White of the Northern District of California, was filed in federal court in Oakland.

According to AA news; The case in question was filed with the allegation that “Siri” could be activated unintentionally and that recorded conversations of users were shared with third parties without their consent.

Although Apple denied the accusations, it agreed to settle and pay $95 million.

If the agreement is approved, users of “Siri”-enabled devices will be able to receive payments of up to $20 per device.

The deal will cover US users who owned a Siri-enabled iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, MacBook, iMac, HomePod, iPod touch or Apple TV between September 17, 2014 and December 31, 2024.

Voice assistant technology “Siri” was first included in the iPhone 4S models released in 2011.

The “Hey Siri” feature, which allows users to activate “Siri” hands-free, was introduced in 2014.
