A Filipino FINE Talks About Her Love For BDC And Her Bias Yun JungHwan

Andi from the Philippines is a big fan of the boy group BDC. She shared about her reasons why she loves BDC and how why she chose the member Yun JungHwan as her bias. She also talked about her favorite tracks and content from the group.

Check out her interview below!

Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from?

Hello! I’m Andi and I’m a fan from the Philippines.

How and when did you enter the fandom?

It was actually when they haven’t debuted yet, May 2019! All members appeared on a survival show called “Produce X 101.” Prior to that, I was already looking forward to them since I was also a fan of the trainees from the same company who also participated on the previous season of the show. Seeing their talent and potential, I decided to support the members since then on, thus, entering the fandom.

What are the reasons why you love your favorite group?

I don’t think there’s one in particular. I just love them because they are BDC. As you enter the fandom and get to know the members more, you’ll learn about their personalities and charms. They are all very different in their own ways and I think that’s what makes them special as a group. The members all have nice personalities and are very fun, and they’re quite loud for a group with only three members *laughs*. Aside from that, they are also very talented and unique! They fill in each other’s lacking aspects, which explains their great bond.

Who caught your attention at first and why?

The member who caught my attention first when I saw them is SiHun! Aside from his blue hair that stood out to me, I found him very charming and talented. He’s a total all-rounder! I was also amazed and in awe of his kindness and great leadership.

Who is your bias, and why?

My bias right now is Yun JungHwan! I think I personally relate to him the most that’s why. Of course, JungHwan is really talented too, he’s actually the main vocal of the group! JungHwan can also write, compose, and arrange songs. One of his works includes the song ‘Masquerade’ from their latest album. In addition, JungHwan also participated in writing for TREASURE’s ‘BFF’. He even mentioned that he already made about 20 songs, but some of them are yet to be released publicly. In the group, JungHwan is the tallest and the maknae. He’s very charming and cute even when he acts like the opposite *laughs*.

Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans?

For the title track, my personal favorite would be ‘Shoot the Moon’, which is their debut title track. This song is quite addicting for me since the first time I listened to it, even the instrumental is great!

Another title track that I recommend if you’re into a different genre is ‘Moonlight’. This song is quite different from the usual “K-Pop sound” that we hear often. I really commend BDC for trying out a different sound, they made it sound so pleasing to the ears despite the unfamiliarity.

For the B-sides, BDC has a lot of good ones. Some of which I can recommend are ‘Chemical’, ‘Fine’, ‘I’ll Be A Star’, ‘Mirage’, ‘Masquerade’, and ‘Go Get Her’. (The last one is special because it’s actually their self-composed song which they performed pre-debut with YOUNITE’s EunSang.)
BDC’s discography in general is very good, I guarantee! So, please make sure to give all the songs a listen~.

Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers?

Most of JungHwan’s covers are song covers, so I recommend to watch all of them. I personally, like this one, ‘Event Horizon’ by YounHa. He did really great in covering this song.

These are also some of his fancams which highlights his dancing and so that you could see how he performs on stage: BDC’s Moonlight (Yun JungHwan FanCam) & BDC’s Moon Walker (Yun JungHwan FanCam)

Can you also recommend a content video (variety series, song cover, dance cover, etc.) by your favorite group?

I believe BDC are part-time artists and part-time entertainers *laughs*. I recommend watching their song covers if you want to focus on their talents! They really have good ones, here are some of which I can recommend: Day6 – ‘Time Of Our Life’ (Cover by BDC), BE’O – ‘LOVE Me’ (Cover by Kim SiHun), Yonezu Kenshi – ‘Lemon’ (Cover by Hong SeongJun) & SG Wannabe Medley (Cover by BDC).

If you want to see more of their entertainer side, I recommend watching their own series on YouTube. They’re not a lot but they’re surely of good quality (these are all provided with English subtitles): “BD-Series”, “Boys Don’t Cry”, and “BDC-Log.”

Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics?

This is from their song, “Da Capo.”
“It’s okay to go back from the start, if I can walk slowly with you,
When I sing this song from the top again, I will become better and protect you.”
I find these lines very meaningful, and I think it perfectly describes the meaning of their group name.

Are there any words from the members you would like to share?

JungHwan mentioned this in one of their interviews. BDC is said to be like a blank paper, which simply means that they aren’t tied to just one standard point.

Andi’s message for BDC:

JungHwan, I hope you’re doing well every day! Always take care of yourself, don’t skip meals! Remember that you’re doing just fine, don’t be too hard on yourself. I’m thankful that I’m gaining motivation and strength from you to get through every single day. Even though I haven’t met or talked you yet, I want you to know that I am always rooting for yours and BDC’s deserved success!

Is there anything you would like to add?

I’ll take this chance to do some promotions too! BDC is currently participating on JTBC’s survival program called, “Peak Time” under the team name of “18:00.” I hope everyone could look forward and support them. There’s an ongoing voting on JTBC’s Peak Time website, so make sure to vote for them! You can find guides on how to vote properly on Twitter. Please do watch their stages too, I personally love their version of ONF’s ‘Beautiful Beautiful’.
