Dune: Prophecy may continue with season 2

Even though the Dune series has not started yet, there is already talk about the second season. When this project was first revealed, it was thought that it would be a miniseries. Because the first season of the series consisted of only six episodes, which is a situation we usually see in mini-series. But comments made this week by HBO President Casey Bloys suggest that HBO sees this as a long-term project. In fact, work has already started for the second season.
Preparations have begun for the 2nd season of Dune: Prophecy
Speaking at a conference this week, HBO President Casey Bloys announced that he had already appointed Allison Schapker, the head of Dune: Prophecay, for season 2: “Allison is currently in the office with the writers, drawing up the road map for a possible season 2.”
Of course, this does not mean that the series has received approval for a second season. HBO will probably want to see how the first season fares before greenlighting the new season. On the other hand, Schapker and his team need to come up with a story that convinces HBO. But Bloys’ statement shows that HBO intends to continue the series. When asked how many seasons the series will last, Bloys stated that he generally leaves this to the creators of the series and that they should make a plan according to the story they want to tell.
Dune: Prophecy takes place approximately 10 thousand years before the birth of Paul Atreides and focuses on the rise of the all-female Bene Gesserit sect. The Bene Gesserit seize power by manipulating those in power throughout the Galaxy. The trailers released so far from the series show that a production that bears traces of Game of Thrones as well as the Dune movies is waiting for us.
