Instagram Reels video time limit has been doubled!

Instagram Reels duration will be 3 minutes

Instagram boss said on his account: “You can now upload three minute long reels. Historically, due to our focus on short-format videos, we have allowed reels of up to 90 seconds, but we’ve received feedback that this is too short for those who want to share longer stories. I hope it works.” he said.

Instagram has been slow to increase the length of Reels; It’s been more than two years since we started allowing one and a half minute videos. The company tested 10-minute Reels videos but did not implement them and removed the ability to share long videos in non-Reels posts. Soon, we will see 3-minute Reels videos more frequently. Meanwhile, TikTok, which is likely to be banned in the USA, has allowed 3-minute videos since 2021.
