Disney also introduced the new season of Andor at the D23 Expo, which is currently taking place in Brazil, and announced that the second season will start on April 22, 2025.
The series, which reveals a different facet of the Star Wars universe from a more adult perspective, was designed from the very beginning as a 24-episode story. The production team, led by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Tony Gilroy, will stick to this original plan. This means that Andor will say goodbye to the screens with its 12-episode second season. At the end of this season, the story will have reached where Rogue One began.
Names such as Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly will return with their roles in the first season, and Ben Mendelsohn will join the team in the second season. Mendelsohn will appear before the audience as Orson Krennica, a character he previously portrayed in the movie Rogue One.
