Latest power chip S2MIW06Designed to work with the latest wireless charging standards, including Qi2. While the Basic Power Profile (BPP) supports wireless charging up to 5W, the Extended Power Profile (EPP) takes it a step further and increases wireless charging up to 15W. EPP is used on most high-end Galaxy phones released in the last few years. Magnetic Power Profile (MPP) supports wireless charging up to 25W. Samsung’s new chip increases wireless charging up to 50W.
Samsung says the S2MIW06 chip has been extensively tested to ensure compatibility with hundreds of Qi-certified wireless chargers/charging pads. It has also been tested with hundreds of uncertified charging pads. Samsung’s new PMIC also supports wireless power sharing in transmit mode.
Samsung also has a new wireless charging standard Qi v.2.2It is working with the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) to develop . The goal is to make wireless charging more reliable and compatible between different devices and chargers. Meanwhile, it is said that the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, which will be introduced soon, will support Qi2 wireless charging with a special case.
