Applications continue for the “Smart Transportation Competition” organized by İGA Istanbul Airport within the scope of TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival. Beyond making our lives easier, smart transportation applications that make all modes of transportation safer are being implemented within the scope of TEKNOFEST Technology Competitions.
The competition, which aims to integrate individuals’ social responsibility awareness with their technological knowledge and experience and create projects that will benefit society, aims to implement innovations and technological developments in the field of transportation that affect human life and applicable projects.
Taking action within the framework of investing in developing technologies and establishing a productive unit, TEKNOFEST contributes to the development of a vision in the field of smart transportation technologies. While the Smart Transportation Competition encourages students to develop projects that will provide social benefit, it also aims to use technology in a way that adds value to social life.
Within the scope of the competition, it is aimed to develop projects that will solve existing problems in the field of transportation by integrating individuals’ social benefit awareness with their technological knowledge and experience. The competition, which allows the integrated application of modern technology and management strategies to transportation systems, creates opportunities to make life easier by solving technological and economic problems.
The Smart Transportation Competition aims to reduce travel times, increase traffic safety, improve mobility and ensure energy efficiency. In the competition, which is held under three main headings: land, air and sea transportation, young people are expected to develop innovative projects for the needs of the future in each category. “Smart Traffic Management and Optimization”, “Autonomous Vehicles and Smart Vehicle Technologies”, “Smart Parking Systems”, “Road Safety and Emergency Management”, “Electric Vehicles and Charging Stations Network” and “Passenger Transportation and Service Systems” in land transportation. Solutions will be sought for such issues. On the other hand, projects will be developed for the efficient use of air transportation on the subjects of “Smart Airport Management”, “Drones and Air Transportation”, “Flight Traffic Management and Optimization” and “Smart Aircraft Systems”. In maritime transportation, projects to be developed under titles such as “Autonomous Maritime Transport and Smart Ships”, “Maritime Traffic Management”, “Sustainable Maritime Transport”, “Smart Loading-Unloading Systems at the Port” and “Marine Pollution Monitoring and Early Warning Systems” will improve transportation systems. It aims to meet the future needs of society by moving it to a safer, sustainable and technologically advanced level.
The competition, which is open to the participation of students studying in Türkiye and abroad, is organized in three different categories: secondary school level, high school level and university level and above. This year, the winning teams in the competition are given a total of 540 thousand TL worth of prizes. The deadline to apply for the competition is 20 February 2025.
