78 percent of companies in Turkey plan to hire employees with artificial intelligence skills

According to the statement made by the Turkish People Management Association (PERYÖN), the World Economic Forum published the “Future of Professions 2025 Report”, which addresses the transformations faced by the global workforce and business world.

The report, in which PERYÖN led the compilation of country data in partnership with its umbrella association, the European Association for People Management (EAPM), includes striking data on the Turkish workforce and business life as well as the global workforce.

Prepared with the participation of more than 1,000 employers representing more than 14 million employees from 55 countries and 22 industry groups, the study reveals the transformations in the labor market in the 2025-2030 period, the fastest growing and declining professions, critical skill requirements and strategic predictions about the future of the business world.

94 PERCENT OF ORGANIZATIONS IN TURKEY

USES ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE PROGRAMS

According to the Türkiye section of the report, 94 percent of organizations in the country use artificial intelligence programs, while this rate is around 88 percent globally. At the same time, 78 percent of companies plan to hire new employees with AI skills, and 70 percent aim to retrain their employees to adapt to AI technologies.

Robotics engineering, renewable energy engineering, autonomous and electric vehicle expertise stand out in the list of professions predicted to grow the fastest in Turkey.

“44 PERCENT OF BASIC SKILLS ARE EXPECTED TO CHANGE”

PERYÖN President Ebru Taşcı Firuzbay, whose views on the report were included in the statement, stated that the study provides very important data about the transformation of the workforce in the world and in Turkey over the years and the future of jobs, and stated that 44 percent of basic skills in Turkey are expected to change accordingly.

Pointing out that this rate is above the global average of 39 percent, Firuzbay made the following evaluations:

“The skills that are expected to develop most rapidly in Turkey stand out as artificial intelligence and big data, technological literacy and cyber security. In order for this transformation to be successful, not only technological investments but also a human-oriented management approach and comprehensive training programs are required for our employees to adapt to this change.” and new skill acquisition processes are very critical. The report also focuses on corporate culture, as well as technology and competencies. It also points out that 88 percent of organizations in Turkey have adopted diversity, equality and inclusion priorities, which is also important for our business world. It’s gratifying.”

EAPM Chairman of the Board Berna Öztınaz also stated that, according to the report, green transformation has led to deep change not only in the business world but also in human resources management.

Öztınaz said, “The increasing demand for roles such as renewable energy engineers, environmental engineers and electric vehicle experts brings with it the responsibility of HR leaders not only to attract talent in these fields, but also to equip employees with these new skills.” he said.
