According to the evaluation committee results for the 9th term applications of the Garanti BBVA Partners Tech Program, the startups to be accepted to the program must have completed the minimum viable product or service (MVP) stage in the productive artificial, intelligence cyber security, payment systems and sustainability verticals and have been operating for at least 2 years. They are expected to have high market potential, a scalable business model and a strong revenue model. Startups accepted to the program are included in the Garanti BBVA Partners Tech Startup Acceleration program for 6 months; They will be able to benefit from office space, tailored mentoring, cooperation opportunities with Garanti BBVA, Garanti BBVA Technology and its subsidiaries, advertising/PR supports, business and product consultancy, training and seminars, and advantageous banking products and services.
Providing information on the subject, Garanti BBVA Deputy General Manager Sibel Kaya said, “We have been embracing the field of entrepreneurship, which we have prioritized strategically, in a holistic framework for many years. The development of many new and different products and services by technology-based entrepreneurs requires us, as a bank that constantly invests in technology, to be in close contact with them. In this context, we have been supporting technology-based startups with fast and high growth potential within the Garanti BBVA Partners Startup Acceleration Program since 2015 and contributing to their expansion into global markets. The investment amount received by the startups participating in the program, in which we supported nearly 60 startups, reached 10 million dollars. With the Garanti BBVA Partners Tech Program we launched last year, we aimed to share our Bank’s knowledge and experience by providing more support to technology-based initiatives that are rapidly becoming widespread. We left behind a productive and instructive working period of 6 months with 5 startups operating with technology-based initiatives in different verticals. We would like to thank the 5 startups that graduated from the program. The productive artificial intelligence (GenAI) vertical, which we included in the program this year, is changing and transforming many sectors today. Generative AI not only optimizes existing processes, but also creates brand new business models and lifestyles. This is where new generation startups are nurtured; Imagine the new, the new and the different and design the future with the power of artificial intelligence; thinking without limits, being able to achieve ‘disruptive innovations’… As a Bank that sees innovation as a fundamental value, our role here is to offer the right environment for startups to achieve their dreams with the program we have implemented, and to develop smarter, more effective and sustainable solutions in all areas of life together. Based on this, we believe that we will have a period of cooperation in which we will experience this excitement together with the new startups that will participate in the program in 2025.
We welcome new applications from entrepreneurs operating in the productive artificial intelligence, cyber security, payment systems and sustainability verticals until January 31, 2025. “With all our work, we will continue to grow the entrepreneurship ecosystem, provide entrepreneurs with the support they need in the new world order and encourage their proliferation.” he said.
