Scope expanded to 20 service obligations
It was already mandatory to open at least 20 services in 7 geographical regions for electric cars imported from countries outside the Customs Union and Free Trade Agreement (FTA) (mainly China), and later PHEV, that is, rechargeable hybrid cars, were also included in this scope. Additional tax rate on some vehicles imported from China increased to 50%
In order for the importer who imports motor vehicles within the scope of the regulation to obtain a permit, he must open 20 service stations himself and these must be certified by the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE). It is also required that the personnel have a certificate of competence for maintenance and repair. Again, according to the regulation, service must be provided through a call center with at least 40 people and battery systems must be monitored and inspected.
