For those who missed it, in the third quarter of 2024, Cybertruck managed to become the third best-selling fully electric vehicle in the USA, after Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3 models. So why is the vehicle being recalled? This has been detected in some vehicles due to drive inverter failure welding. In case of malfunction, the vehicle driving safety by losing the ability to accelerate can endanger it.
Tesla on this subject “If the inverter stops producing torque, the driver loses the ability to apply torque to the vehicle using the accelerator pedal, resulting in loss of thrust, which can increase the risk of a crash” and will apply to Cybertruck models produced between November 6, 2023 and July 30 this year. It will also replace the recalled drive inverter with a working component, and no fee will be charged for this process.
The interesting thing is that this malfunction is not the first for Cybertruck. In October, Tesla announced that it would recall more than 27 thousand Cybertruck vehicles in the USA due to the problem with the rear view camera. Thus, with the latest decision, Tesla’s Cybertruck vehicle has been recalled for the sixth time this year, and this time a physical component replacement is required.
The rear-wheel drive model of Cybertruck, which is currently on display in Turkey, is offered for sale at $60,990, while the more powerful four-wheel drive version is sold at $79,990. The “Beast” version has a price tag of $ 99,990.
