Armed robot dog “Bars” took to the field in the sniper competition

Boran-6 Sniper Competition, held at the international level for the first time this year by the Gendarmerie General Command, continues at the Foça Gendarmerie Commando Training Command Gendarmerie Colonel M. Remzi Kızılsu Shooting Range in the Foça district of Izmir.

In the organization attended by 40 teams from 18 countries, including Turkey, the armed robot dog Bars, developed in cooperation with Quad Robotics and Savhatek using the talents of the Turkish defense industry, took to the field.

Bars performed high accuracy shots at distances between 250-600 meters with MPT-55 and MPT-76 national infantry rifles.

Bars, which can quickly engage the target and fire accurately thanks to its electro-optical target detection and ballistic calculation features, attracted the attention of national and international observers with its performance.

“THE POINT SHOT WAS SUCCESSFUL”

Quad Robotics Founder Uğur Coşkun said that robotic armed systems and robotic platforms are developing day by day and their use is increasing.

Stating that robotic weapon systems have been introduced into battlefields and are fighting, Coşkun said, “We are currently making efforts to implement these in our country, by looking at the information and examples we have gained in the world. In this context, we are building a tower on the integration of 4-legged robots into the battlefield simultaneously with the world.” “We integrated the system into a robot. We made shots at 250 and 600 meters with this system and the pinpoint shooting was successful,” he said.

Coşkun stated that the testing process of the robot dog Bars has been completed and that they plan to develop it as a more comprehensive system by integrating it into an autonomous off-road vehicle in the future.

Explaining that they believe that the robot dog will be shaped according to Turkey’s security needs and will find a wide place in its field, Coşkun continued as follows:

“Thanks to the gun tower on the bars, shots can be made with higher accuracy than a human, which provides a strong deterrent in the field. After conducting shooting tests on the existing tracks established for the competition in Izmir, we had the opportunity to prove the accuracy of our weapon system to international observers. In this environment, we had the opportunity to prove the performance of our weapon system both at home and abroad.” “We are pleased to exhibit it to experts from home and abroad.”
