With this project, data from electricity meters can be obtained without any problems even in rural areas where GSM access is limited. In the project, Plan-S, which uses the Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure, Connecta IoT Network technology and satellites will be used. Thanks to this technology, data received from the meters is transferred to Adm Elektrik’s data centers via satellite. Thus, the problems experienced due to GSM network problems in rural areas Meter reading problems will also be a thing of the past..

With this innovative method, Adm Elektrik aims to reduce energy losses and illegal usage rates and make energy distribution processes faster, more reliable and environmentally friendly. Adm Elektrik thus breaks new ground in Turkey.

The pilot studies of the project were successfully completed by receiving data via satellite in rural areas where data could not be received. In this process, a significant improvement was achieved compared to existing systems by ensuring regular data flow from the meters. Full-scale application is In Aydın, Denizli and Muğla in 2025 is planned to be implemented. The four satellites of Plan-S currently in orbit will be launched with the SpaceX Falcon 9 Transporter 12 mission. The total number will be increased to 8 by adding four new satellites. Plan-S will increase the number of IoT satellites to 200 over time.

Making a statement on the subject, Adm Elektrik General Manager Ahmet Bayramoğlu said, “This project will be an important step towards the future in energy management. Poor GSM reception quality in rural areas was a significant problem in existing remote reading systems. This solution will provide efficiency in field operations and reduce health and safety risks reflected in working life. “It is an honor to be a pioneer in technology,” he said.

Plan-S CEO Tugay Güzel made the following statements about the cooperation with Adm: “Digitalizing energy management in many areas with the Connecta IoT Network is a big step not only in technological but also in terms of environmental sustainability. This collaboration with Adm Elektrik will create a success story that will set an example in the sector.”
