Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır made a statement regarding the allegations that TOGG will be sold to BYD or a different Chinese brand:
“TOGG is the apple of our eye. We really support and embrace TOGG. Different collaborations in this sector are happening around the world. One day, different collaborations like this may be possible, but with different brands. TOGG will continue on its way as a national brand and a national brand. The technology collaboration has already resulted in a partnership with China’s Farasis on the battery side. Tomorrow, he may make another collaboration with another brand on the technology side. That’s another topic, but TOGG is our national brand. It is valuable for us that TOGG is TOGG.”
Continuing his statements, Kacır emphasized that TOGG enabled the growth of the start-up ecosystem and used the following statements: “TOGG gives them incredible power. We have a start-up, Büyüktech, that produces TOGG’s cameras…Büyüktech could not have been accredited in this market so quickly without TOGG. It is a fact that a national brand, a brand that owns all engineering and intellectual property rights, can be more flexible and faster in these areas. Of course, other global investors are also valuable to us. We also give them incentives. We support them too. All companies that I have mentioned, such as Ford, Fiat, Renault, Toyota, Hyundai, etc. are valuable to us. But the presence of a national brand in an industry is invaluable for Türkiye.”
The T10X in the C-SUV segment has sold more than 40 thousand units to date; Sales in the first 11 months of 2024 were 24 thousand 361.
