German automobile manufacturer Opel is gradually introducing its new naturally electric Frontera model to its customers, especially in Europe. The compact system, consisting of a 1.2-liter gasoline engine, an electric motor producing 21 kW (28 HP) and an electric 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, offers many advantages as a smart and cost-effective drive system solution in daily use. The vehicle, which has a maximum torque of 230 Nm, reaches speeds from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.0 seconds. The maximum speed of the model is 190 km/h.
Opel engineers have made special efforts to ensure optimum body control and brand-specific driving character, even at high speeds on motorways. Thanks to its low center of gravity, Frontera always has a solid grip on the road. Especially in Frontera Electric, integrating the battery into the ground contributes significantly to this balanced driving.
