Some users appear to be experiencing issues with YouTube’s recommendation system. Judging by the complaints received as of November 25, the recommended algorithm is both YouTube and it doesn’t work properly for YouTube Music.

YouTube recommendation There are different notifications that the system is not working properly. One user says YouTube is recommending him barely viewed videos with 1,000 views. Another user mentions that YouTube Music playlists are mixed up. Another user says that almost all of the suggestions consist of videos he has watched before, and that podcast broadcasts are recommended even though he has never used YouTube podcasts.

Currently, it is unclear what causes the problem and when it will be fixed. There appears to be no workaround for affected users. One user states that even if he clicks on “I’m not interested” or “Don’t recommend the channel”, there is no improvement in the situation, and the recommended ones will be older videos. There is no statement from YouTube yet.
