According to the news in the national press, Tim Cook made evaluations about the importance of China for Apple while visiting the China International Supply Chain Fair (CISCE), which will start tomorrow in the capital Beijing, during his visit to China.
Stating that Apple’s partners in China have a very important place in the company’s value chain, Cook said, “We attach great importance to our presence in China. That is why I am visiting for the third time this year. We have wonderful business partners here. Without our Chinese suppliers, there would be no Apple.” he said.
Touring the joint stand set up by Apple’s suppliers in China, Cook responded to the question about how he sees the company’s future in China: “But I see it will get better.” he replied.
At the Apple stand, it was shared that 80 percent of the 200 major suppliers the company works with around the world are located in China.
This is the third time Apple’s CEO is visiting China this year. Cook had previously come to Beijing in March to attend the China Development Forum (CDF) and met with Prime Minister Li Jiang along with business people from the USA on the margins of the forum.
Cook later attended the opening of the Apple store in Shanghai’s Cing’an district, where he met with suppliers in China.
Speaking to China Daily, the publication of the Chinese Communist Party, Cook pointed out that Apple has gradually expanded its chain in China and increased its investments in the last 30 years and said, “There is no more critical supply chain in the world for us than China.” He used the expression.
Cook also visited the capital Beijing last month and met with Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology China Caunglong and Chinese Minister of Commerce Wang Vintao.
It was noteworthy that Cook’s visit coincided with a period when Apple was preparing to integrate productive artificial intelligence services into smartphones and other devices under the name “Apple Intelligence”.
